An interesting assemblage of images, Janet. Some striking contrasts here. At first I thought the view from the curtained window was a work displayed in the gallery at the beginning. And I must admit I appreciate the ornate and colourful 19th century (?) spaces more than the modern ones.

Yes Pete, I visited with my sister over from Australia. It was the home of a town mayor and Victorian collector who gave the house to the town.

Hello Audrey, yes the bare gallery is in a department store and the door was more interesting than the paintings!

It was the house of Russel Cotes, Bournemouth Mayor who left it to the town, now a museum and art gallery. Lovely sea views.
