  1. Those dodecahedrons were either used for something secret or for something so everyday that no one mentioned them in any writings. You may be right about knitting or some other process involving fiber.

  2. I featured a similar Roman artifact on my blog ages ago, with the news that it was for crochet/knitting gloves. However, that was debunked later by information that knitting of any kind did not exist in the Roman Empire at the time. Current leader in the ‘what is it?’ race is a celestial zodiac viewer for looking at the pattern of stars in the night sky.
