Janet, it looks like a fun albeit unusual day at the sea-side! Why are 150 kg of weights being lugged around? I do hope the parachutists was safe from the wires around the sculpture! What is is supposed to be? I’m intrigued!
Hello Annika it wouldn’t be Silly Sunday if you knew what was going on! I have no idea why they were pulling cars and lugging 150 kg weights around, I think I walked past and caught the end of a contest. The parachutist managed to miss the portal, I wondered if he was aiming to go through it. This weekend it was Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival and ‘Portal’ was the star attraction, it has lights and sound.
Alas Pete it is due to stay only till Wednesday. There is a sadder tale behind that as on Friday the families of the two teenagers who drowned by the pier were horrified when they saw it on the news, framing the bit of sea where they drowned. The council then with much wailing and gnashing of teeth apologised profusely for ‘their crass mistake’ and said they would take it down. Of course it had only just gone up and would take three days to take down….
Great pictures 🌈
