Too creepy for me, Janet! My 6-year-old granddaughter just told me an hour ago that people’s houses get scarier when it gets closer and closer to Halloween.
That’s great. We have had a tradition since 1997? The churches and communities have a Trunk and Treat at the parking lot where people park their cars, decorate the trunks to hand out candies. My daughter’s family dressed up and took part in it last week. We’ll join them to the trick or treating this evening.
Hello Miriam, I have heard all about Trunk and Treat as my son was posted to the USA for three years and his two children were enthusiastic participants.
Did you hold the tarantula?
I once had one on my hand in Venezuela. It lived in the brim of a man’s hat. I thought it was a toy one, until he got it out, popped it on my hand, and it started walking!
I rather liked the sensation of its furry feet.
But I am not an arachnaphobe!
I don’t even mind snakes, so long as they’re not poisonous.
Hello Jaqueline, I did hold a cockroach. I wasn’t invited to hold the spider, I think the owner might not trust others, he had had one of his spiders for 18 years. he had quite a collection!
Yes creepy taxidermy, but what would museums do without them!
The man with the spiders had a good few, all since they were babies, one for eighteen years. He said they could live for forty or more.

In a word, no. I would leave the door of the Cabinet of Curiosities firmly closed.

I would rather hold a tarantula than a cockroach! 🙂

I always think Taxidermy is creepy, and I wouldn’t go anywhere near those huge insects cockroaches, or spiders. Horrible things!
Best wishes, Pete.
