Where will you end up today?
At the library coffee morning we had a quiz which most of us found difficult and I only got nine out of thirty two.βHere are a few questions, Xmas theme and the past year, answers at the end.
Which country won the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest?
Which two countries hosted the Women’s Football World Cup this year?
Which World Famous film and entertainment company celebrated it’s 100th birthday in 2023?
In the natural world where would you find frankincense and myrrh?
Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ was written in which century?
In the movie Elf, what is the first rule of ‘The Code of Elves’?
Another completely different piece of Christmas Music to liven things up while you ponder the answers.
ANSWERS
Sweden won Eurovision.
Australia and New Zealand hosted the football.
It was Disney’s 100th birthday.
Frankincense and myrrh come from tree resin.
A Christmas Carol was published in 1843, the nineteenth century.
Treat every day like Christmas is the first rule for elves.
How many did you get right? I chose the easiest ones…

I got one right. π¦

I only got two as well: Dickens and Disney. Revealing my lack of interest in Eurovision and womenβs football!

Yes Clive, with any quiz there will be questions that depend on your interests not intelligence!

I got 3 or 4 right, depending if it counts that I knew frankincense and myrrh came from trees, but I thought the question was what part of the world, i.e., eastern Africa. Didn’t know Eurovision or anything about Elf.

Definitely counts if you knew trees. I thought they came from wise men!

Wow … if those were the ‘easy’ ones, I’d hate to see the rest of ’em! I got one right … Disney!

A few people at the quiz got on well, I was near the bottom with my 9 out of 32. Yes Jill the other questions were harder. Ps, your comment was sitting all alone in my spam folder!

Could be those that did really well took a few side trips to Google to search, too π Awwww … all by myself sittin’ in the Spam folder … thanks for rescuing my comment! Happens to me sometimes that a perfectly innocuous comment by a long-time reader goes to spam for no discernible reason. The joys of WordPress!

No cheating at library quizzes, not like pub quizzes. Everyone had their hands full with homemade cake!

Without cheating, I got Dickens, Disney, and I also got the football one right. Not because I watch it, but because it was featured on the main news. π
Best wishes, Pete.
