Did you get the gifts you wanted?

  1. I’m not a Star Wars fan, so I was a little surprised to be given a Millennium Falcon jigsaw. All silver – tricky, tiny black line design that made me squint, 201 pieces. Did it over two days.

The biggest smile, though, came when the missus and I found we had given each other the same book! Alan Bennett’s Killing Time. She read it last night; I got through it in 4 or 5 hours today.

  2. We are very boring with gifts now, as we have too much ‘stuff’ so only get useful things. That means we both know what we are getting, and sometimes even order them for ourselves and hand them over for wrapping. So, no surprises!

Happy new year to you, Janet.

    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. My daughter, her partner and her daughter sent me a box full of little gifts – sweets, biscuits, nibbles, a cocktail and a mug. So lovely to open lots of small buut thoughtful gifts!

  4. I currently own an inflated spiky porcupinefish that one of my brothers gave to one of my sisters (who was in her early 20’s at the time) for Christmas on a family ski trip where we drew names to exchange one gift each. I think the fish is cool but it basically ruined my sister’s holiday that year!
