My favorite is the painting of the long hallway view connecting the rooms.

Great minds think alike Geoff. That was the favourite of mine and my sister’s and we had seen all the pictures – it is a small gallery. We chatted to the staff and apparently it is the favourite of visitors.

Hello Miriam, alas it’s 224 miles away from me, not far in USA terms of course! It’s where my son and family live and my two older grandchildren were born.

Hello Carol. We have been going to Lincoln since my son and daughter-in-law went to live there, with a gap while they lived in the USA and of course Covid etc.. So I was glad to get back there. We always used to make a beeline for the old city.

I am awed by the painting of the hallway with paintings on the wall and sunlit carpet! If I could paint like this, I’d buy a one-way ticket to cloud nine and refuse to get back to earth.😐

I like your Lincolnshire Imp! We call our little boy dog Kai the Lincoln Imp, because he came from Laughterton near Lincoln.

Loved the stroll and the little bits of history. I always enjoy looking at foreign architecture and the mix of the eras, like Tudor and Victorian. 🙂

Many thanks for these lovely pics. I haven’t been to Lincoln for a long time but when I lived just north of the river in the 80s-90s I always used to take visitors who stayed long enough to York and to Lincoln. Without exception they all said they preferred Lincoln. (I didn’t know at the time that my paternal grandmother had been born in Lincolnshire.)

So glad you enjoyed my blog. I first went to Lincoln in 1974 when I came back from Australia to England on a working holiday ( that I’m still on ). I caught up with an infant school friend in Sleaford who took me into Lincoln on the train and we walked up Steep Hill, amazing after living in an Australian country town. As I was expecting to only stay in England six months and never see Lincoln again, , I could never have guessed my first two grandchildren would be born there.
