Hello Liz, that photo was taken by my sister in Western Australia, so it is a red back, the only dangerous spider in WA!

Yes Geoff, no need to worry about shrinking, though maybe worry about spiders getting bigger…

Those giant spiders gave me a flashback to one time when I was painting the bottom of a house under a deck. They weren’t as big as the model spiders, but they were the biggest live ones I’ve ever seen. (Bigger than tarantulas.)

Hello Pete, yes spiders of all sorts love to lurk in dark places, but that would have been a shock! My nephew kept a pet tarantula when he lived with us.

Hello Carol, yes I can imagine the grandsons’ faces if they unwrapped the haggis Lego.
Red backs lurk in dark places so fine if you don’t disturb them.

Never believe anything you see on my blog Mister Bump! The pictures on the beach were taken on Friday. Yesterday was cold and grey. Did you enjoy Christchurch?

Yeah I love it. I’m seeing someone down there so it’s a nice chance to get out for coffee and cake! Best of all I get back to Salisbury around suppertime so often treat myself to something out!

Lego haggis – oh no. There are a lot of people who won’t like bigger spiders and cockroaches.
