Thoughtless Thursday

  1. When I was working for the police, one of the officers was tasked with finding the venue for a Christmas Party for our team’s ‘Do’. Bearing in mind we worked in Central London, he chose a hotel in Margate, Kent. Some of those attending had to travel over 100 miles each way, and we all had to book rooms to stay overnight. The hotel was a ‘Fawlty-Towers’ style disaster. Your witty post made me remember that today.

    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. The friend I introduced it to has clocked up nearly a year , never missing a day and understanding all the rules, while I constantly miss days and don’t know how much ‘energy’ I have got! But it’s still fun, more fun than school French lessons.

      1. Yes, yes! Totally on the same page with you. Just that I was like your friend at one point during my 11years on Duolingo. Duo, the algorithm, is trained to control you to do lessons everyday, streaks and all and whatever metrics, but the real human fun is to learn at our own pace. So now I don’t give a fish about stats, just who is learning which language. I recently added Chess because I know zero Chess 🤭

  2. Lol, those were fun Janet. When I first began blogging, I used to wonder what to write about, lol. Through the years I’ve learned to write about something that came to mind so I could draft it for a future blog. If I don’t write it then, I won’t remember, lol. 😋
