  1. Doesn’t everybody like to see inside the homes of others? I mean if we’re honest, we like to judge what’s in the grocery cart of the person in front of us in line at the check out. Even walking in my neighborhood, I shake my head in disgust at the mess some folks have OUTSIDE their house and smile in admiration of the tidy yard next door.

    Beautiful images, BTW!

  2. Beautiful decorations, Janet. I would gladly spend a December day or night exploring it all. When we bought our house years ago, going to the open houses for sale was a very interesting experience learning how others set up their living spaces. I did like exploring them.

  3. Thanks for sharing, Janet!

The closest houses I’ve seen here are Hearst Castle at San Simeon on the Central coast of California, the Builtmore Estate in North Carolina, and some of the homes of the DuPonts’s homes in Delaware.

However, we go to every normal person’s open house that we can. I even drag my brother to open houses when I visit Portland. Why not? It’s just fun to be nosey.

    1. This house was built as a home for The Mayor of Bournemouth and his wife later in their lives. They spent a lot of time traveling, so I’m not sure how long they spent here. Then they gave it to the people of Bournemouth. I love visiting any home, small or large and I am very nosey. I like winter as you can see in people’s windows after dark if they haven’t closed their curtains!
