To celebrate Chelsea Flower Show week I will post garden pictures every day, to save me bothering to write any blogs while I am busy enviously watching the show every evening on television.

Even my beach hut has a garden?
A look back… I got a bit carried away during Covid lockdown when I discovered the local garden centre was doing deliveries, but you had to order a minimum amount… Visitors could only chat in the front garden.
Will you be watching Chelsea? Does your garden match up to the ones at flower shows?

My late mum so enjoyed visiting the Chelsea Flower Show.

I think seeing the show gardens would make me decide my place was an utter mess. It’s impressive that they can be built from scratch for the occasion.

Yes Audrey, it is a miracle as they have to delay some plants, bring others on early and then transport them from miles away. I like the programe where they visit people a couple of weeks before and watch them getting ready – one place had put their plants in the fridge!.

All I ever managed to do was to cut things back. It’s a problem now as I need to pay someone to do it.

I have to have the tree surgeon for my ‘woodland corner’ that includes a big apple tree.

I’m really grateful that there is this generation of light battery tools that I can operate one-handed, so I can keep broadly on top of things. I have two trees that I need to get someone in to manage, but I’m conscious that a single visit from this guy costs the same as one of these tools.

My younger son has all battery operated garden tools now and solar power to charge them up. For his birthday we all contributed for a battery lawnmower.

No doubt why his wife started crowd funding! He sent us all a video of him mowing and said ‘You can’t believe how happy this makes me!

I don’t watch it. Partly because the gardens are way out of my price range and partly because I am too busy on my own plot!

I know, I set a series link and will end up with unwatched episodes by the time the 2027 show comes round. Rain the other day helped me get to the TV a little sooner.
