  1. Beautiful walk indeed – and peaceful and quiet…I went for a 5 mile walk through Central Park today – gorgeous, fall foliage and people rowing boats int he lake…plus thousands running, biking , walking and picnic’ing…everyone upbeat and happy, the way a “Saturday IN The Park” should be…by the way, the band Chicago wrote that song after indeed spending the day in Central Park!

  2. “Slug & Lettuce” does not sound very appetizing, Janet! Ha! Though, it comes close to our lettuce issues in the US! Ha! Good to know also, that aliens still land while we are being lost in the woods! (smile) They most likely feel more welcome in your neck of the woods, than in ours, however! (smile) Thank you always for the smiles and wittiness!

    1. Hello Anita. I just took that photo of the Slug and Lettuce because I liked the white building, but the name seems to have created great interest! There is a recent history to that building, when we moved here it was a lovely Borders Store – basement full of music, floors full of books and a cafe, open till 10 pm. It was so sad when it closed in 2009.
PS I did take an alien home with me, but he did not want to be photographed for my blog.

      1. The Borders Store sounded lovely, Janet! It is a shame that it closed. And so happy to hear that you took an alien home with you, but sorry to hear that he is shy about being photographed! (smile)

  3. We used to go to The Slug and Lettuce in Hanover Street when I worked at West End Central Police Station in London. It was a good pub, and the food was good too. I think it’s still there. I can’t see how you get into the one above Tesco in Bournemouth though. I like the Art Deco flats in the first photo.

    Best wishes, Pete.
