HI Janet, I’ve always wondered what gorse bushes look like so I am delighted to see them here. I can even see the thorns in the first picture. I know about gorse bushes because of The Famous Five books by Enid Blyton. The children often spoke of gorse bushes.

Hello Robbie. We can see the Isle of Purbeck in the distance where Enid Blyton went on holiday and apparently inspired the stories. Gorse are very tough and like dry sandy areas.

I had never seen oak leaves so close. Great! It seems you had a nice stroll, and enjoyed the bank holiday the best way. xx Michael

Yes, this is a good time of year to look at trees when their leaves are all fresh and new!
