Few words needed, but anyone having visitors for the weekend will know the importance of the weather, especially if dogs and children are involved, but the good news is… smart phones still work even if you drop them in the sea and swimming in the sea was the most popular activity.
SATURDAY

SUNDAY

At least Sunday looked a little better! Ha! Pretty much the entire month of July was all rain here in New England, but the last week has been so lovely. Of course, as I am writing this, it is raining here, once again! Wishing you lots of sunshine and blue skies to enjoy, Janet (but not too much heat!)!

Saturday looks like a perfect stay and read a book vacation day!

Yes Liz, one thing about getting caught in horrendous rain, it’s so nice when you get home again!

I’m not sure I’d want to test the water theory too often with our phones. That feels like it would be playing with fire.

Aa it fell into the shallows while retreating from the incoming wave, sand was apparently a greater risk so it was rinsed under a tap as well!

Regardless of the rain, it sounds like a good time was had by all…if its any consolation its rained here day and night for the last week the rain seems pretty widespread around the globe 🙂

That might help keep sea levels down as there is a finite amount of water on the planet!

I really like the second photograph, of the steps. I’m not sure what it is about it, though.

Thanks Mick, I like taking pictures from different viewpoints and in the rain.

Great photos Janet and it mirrors our own weather over the weekend and for most of the last month. Hard to believe it is August… xx

Phew, glad the phone was okay! 😀 Oh, this summer the weather has been so changeable and one just has to make the best of it when it doesn’t rain. It’s always special by the coast but of course, one wants the best when family and friends visit.

Yes we have had some memorable weather moments such as the one night Xmas stay by Aussie relatives, the cliff top pre Xmas lunch walk had everyone retreating from a biting wind and the Isle of Wight hidden from view. On Boxing Day, visitors gone, the sun was warm on our faces , the Isle of Wight brilliant white!

Precious memories, Janet – I bet your Aussie relatives didn’t believe you when you mentioned the beautiful weather the next day! 😀

Lovely pics. I know we’ve been having same weather, grey skies, hot, and rare appearances from the sun since end of June. Hard to plan outdoor things because it rains on and off sporadically. I need a summer! 🙂

Yes Debby I have hopes for September. I have gallons of rainwater stored up and no need for watering.
