A good day for a trip
Strange sights to see – what is this monolith? Answer at the end.
What is going on and where are we?
Enjoy Spring
Time to get back on the bus.
But keep an eye on the sky…
Nearly time to celebrate Floralia.
What is the monolith?
A strange spring ritual on the beach?
A giant mobile phone?
The new Tardis?

A bit difficult to squeeze into, even if it is much bigger on the inside.

Now that’s a mobile phone I can actually read (but, I guess, hard to hide away in a purse)! Ha!

The best cherry blossom in my road. The ancient Roman Floralia starts next week, soon after World Earth Day.

A most interesting day, Janet. I’m curious about the giant phone. Are those common where you live? It seems like a great idea because people aren’t always carrying their phones.

I had never seen these before till I bumped into three in this ‘cutting edge’ area. I couldn’t find any reference locally, but found this on line from 2017 ‘Designed to replace the ubiquitous but now obsolete BT phone boxes, the new street monoliths run on a version of Android and offer interactive maps, two USB charging ports and for people who want to really LARP living in the past, landline calls.’

Hello Carol, yes such a short lived treat if the weather gets windy or there is a sudden downpour, but when the sun is shining…

Yes indeed, Janet but beautiful while they last x

The big red 999 button is just asking to be pushed by pranksters and vandals. I am imagining the amount of ‘dropped emergency calls’ they will get from those contraptions.
Best wishes, Pete.

Ha ha, yes Pete, I have had similar comments from others I’ve shown the pictures to. Of course a lost child or one in distress could use it. I couldn’t find anything on local social media as to their popularity or otherwise.

Hi Janet, I love the spring blossoms. The giant phone is a bad idea, I think.
