If I Ruled the World

Alas just a fantasy, like many of us I cannot imagine anything worse than being a politician, let alone a leader of a nation. After many jobs and career attempts I realised I don’t actually like responsibility, so it is hypocritical of me to tell royalty and politicians of any nation how they should be running things.

So, what are you waiting for…let’s go!

    1. I wholeheartedly second that! And I would add that I’d like to tell President Joe Biden that I’m proud of him and that he has done a fine job over the past four years, clearing the many hurdles and obstacles thrown in front of him in order to work in the best interests of the nation and its people. Thank you, President Biden and Vice President Harris!

    1. Yes Jacqueline it has been unremittingly grey, I’ve got that February feeling already.
Alas politicians do have a protocol to follow ( not that Trump ever bothered about manners and respect ) and I guess we have to look upon it as not lowering themselves to Trump’s level.

      1. Your mention of manners and respect brings to mind a previous state visit to the UK. Such was his ego he was oblivious to a little old lady with a walking stick (The Queen) bobbing and weaving trying to get round him, or catch up with him. :O People have different polictical views, but I was truly gob-smacked at the result and found it unbelievable. I still do.

  1. I realised a long time ago that I have absolutely no power to change anything at a National level let alone an International one. Instead I have chosen to focus on the things I CAN affect – my immediate neighbourhood, the local initiatives trying to make our area better for everyone and, of course, building a network of blogging friends around the world. It is amazing how many good, honest, hardworking, kind and generous people there are (which makes me wonder how the idiots get elected) and together we will make small changes that hopefully will add up. That doesn’t mean I am not dismayed by the election of Trump – it will just make our job harder.

  2. Sad to discover that Starmer was one of the first world leaders to suck up to Trump, hoping for trade deals. I suspect the only trade deal that will happen is the selling off of the NHS to American healthcare companies and insurance providers.

    Best wishes, Pete.
