I don’t think there are art trails here, Janet. Maybe in Cape Town. I love the mural of the violinist.

Hello Robbie. Each of those murals reflects something local. The underpass is yards away from the Arts centre that is home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

As soon as I stumble onto an art trail, I will be obsessed with visiting every point on it. That compulsion is why I have visited all 50 states in the United States.

That is impressive Geoff. Now you have me thinking have I visited every county in England, a much smaller task.
Our camera club is competing who will be the first to snap each of the forty five mermaids!

Ooh, you’re doing so well! I saw one in Poole Park yesterday, but that was it…
I try not to get obsessed with following trails, watching series’ etc. I have a very addictive personality 🙂

Hello Jacqueline, you obviously won’t be able to set off on your travels until you have seen all 45!

Victoria BC had similar painted sculptures of orcas (killer whales) in several different places years ago, but I don’t remember whether there was a “whale trail.” And the municipality where I live (Oak Bay) has had art works on display in recent years, with a period during which people could vote for their favourites. The work with the most votes would be purchased as a permanent public art. Some fine works have been acquired through this process.

Hello Audrey, sounds like you have lots of art to enjoy. Some children thought these tails were whales’, not surprising as they do look like whales’ tails.

No, I’ve never followed any art trails, didn’t know what one was until tonight! But thank you, my friend, for reminding me that there is still beauty in this world. Sometimes I forget that. I LOVED these photos!!!

We had the elephant trail in London in 2010. I didn’t get obsessed with seeing them all, but because of where I lived and worked, I did manage to see almost half of them.
Best wishes, Pete.

Trails are quite popular. A camera club friend found an elephant trail when they were at West Bay and Bridport.

Your pictures are fabulous. We have several towns in our county which have become well known for their building art. I’ve seen a lot of them, but definitely not all. I don’t think we have an official art trail. 🙂

Thanks Marsha. We have all sorts of murals around such as a giant dachshund and elephants! The mermaids’ tails are going to be auctioned off in June for the charity.

That’s interesting. I wonder who will bid on the tails. 🙂

With 45 tails it will be a big auction and I’ll try and report back when it happens.

Please do. If one is in a beach community, I’d say a tail is a must! 🙂 xxx
