This is such an important exhibit. These photographs are a hedge against people in the future denying that the war ever happened.

This prompted me to look up how many refugees from Ukraine are still living in the UK. I guessed maybe 150,000. But it is much higher. While most really want to be able to return to Ukraine, the continuation of the war there makes this unlikely.
As of late 2025, approximately 254,580 Ukrainian refugees were estimated to be in the UK. Other data from late 2024 suggested around 217,000 Ukrainians were living in the UK following the 2022 invasion. Over 230,000 people have arrived under specific visa routes, with most residing in England.
Key Details
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete. I wonder how many thought they would still be here? We had a lovely young Ukrainian woman turn up at our writers’ group. She wrote beautifully in English. After a little while she disappeared, so I hope she got to progress in her writing career.
