Silly Saturday – Transport Trials and Tribulations

Everyone is worrying about transport; panic buying at petrol stations because of a shortage of petrol tank drivers, what alternative transport would you use…

Panic about empty shelves because of a shortage of HGV drivers; turns out the food does not appear in shops by magic, perhaps other means of delivery should be considered…

But it is no fun being a delivery driver; nowhere to park and rest in big cities…

…and poor facilities at driver stopovers…

They can only dream of better.

Why not continue to escape reality with one of my short story collections…

  1. At the risk of smugness, no worries here. We only have to plug in at home or en route. And in most of Europe, motorway service stations provide shower facilities, great meals and dedicated parking for lorry drivers, The UK is impoverished in relation to them.

    1. Yes Jim, I think it’s tough any time, but I think we are being made more aware what it’s like for them. Many of us just see lorries and trucks as the monsters that scare us on the motorways and block up town centres, even though it’s our food they are delivering.

  2. I think you may have cracked it with the suggestion of Dotto Trains, Janet. Now they are about to be put away as the holiday season ends, they could do a lot of local deliveries in seaside towns. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. The bathroom shots made me think of my mom, who always liked stopping at places along the way with a clean bathroom. I think all of these would have passed inspection.
