Windy Wednesday

  1. Just the same, but wrap up and you can’t beat a seaside walk in any weather. Come on though, who took the sea temperature at 15 degrees? I paddled at the weekend and my toes have still not thawed.

      1. hahaha. I have a protective plastic pouch for mine that I can wear around my neck when I’m in a boat or on a pier. It’s hard to take a picture while you’re wearing it, though. 🙂 xxx

  2. Quite warm yesterday (27C), cooler today, but still bone dry. We gardeners are irrationally annoyed to hear non-gardeners exulting over “lovely weather” when our gardens are drying up and water bills rising.

  3. This post is almost poetic. “Less windy on the other side of the pier? NO!” I laughed. “Worse still, your phone could fall into the ocean.” Worse than falling overboard with your phone in your hand? Too funny, Janet. I was anxious to get to each new scenario to see if the wind died down. 🙂

  4. Very windy here in Norfolk too, and occasional heavy rain. The sun was out for a couple of hours this afternoon, and pushed up the temperature to 17C. June is often not the best month here, so no surprises.

    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. A wonderful glimpse of a wild, wet, and windy week by the sea. Despite the grey skies and strong winds, your photos beautifully capture the character and charm of Bournemouth. Sometimes even stormy weather creates memorable scenes and reminds us of nature’s power and beauty.📸

    1. Hello Robbie, no that damage was already there from previous storms and wear and tear. The pier needs work done on it. The lovely paddle steamer Waverly, which tours round the country, used to sail from Bournemouth Pier, but not any more. Southbourne once had a pier, but it did not last long – 1888 until it was destroyed by storms over the New Year 1900/1901!
